
Summer is upon us! Well, for some of us at least, depending on where you live. And as always, here is another month of Hydranet updates.
No sneak peek just yet… but our testers have already gotten their hands on the latest iteration of the application. They are helping us fine-tune the experience by providing feedback on usability and reporting any issues they encounter.
The app has seen significant changes on the front-end side over the past month, with a strong focus on creating a cleaner, more intuitive experience. One of the biggest changes is a complete overhaul of the onboarding flow, designed to make getting started with Hydranet feel more accessible while staying true to the workflows our existing testers are already familiar with.
Beyond that, we’ve refined many aspects of the interface to better match the experience we want to deliver at launch. At this stage, the focus is no longer on introducing major changes, but on polishing the experience, addressing feedback from testers, and fixing the remaining issues as we prepare for mainnet.
We’re intentionally keeping the details under wraps for now, but we can’t wait to show everyone what we’ve been working on. We think it’ll be worth the wait.
On the backend side, we have continued addressing challenges identified during testing to keep strengthening the overall platform.
One key area of focus has been swap reliability. We identified an issue related to channel funding that could cause swaps to fail unexpectedly when using the SimpleSwap interface. The issue was investigated, resolved, and improvements have been implemented to make the process more reliable.
We have also improved how the application handles incomplete operations and unexpected events such as application crashes or sudden disconnections. Previously, this could leave certain processes in an uncertain state which did not resolve automatically. We have improved the recovery logic so that operations can resume more reliably without requiring manual intervention.
Another important area has been database and performance improvements. During testing involving larger volumes of swaps, we identified limitations related to handling the data. Improvements to database management, including better data cleanup and pruning processes, have been implemented to ensure the application remains responsive and stable as activity increases.
These types of improvements may not always be visible from the user interface, but they are essential for creating a better, more reliable experience and ensuring Hydranet is prepared for future growth.
