Hydranet, we’re moving quickly! Back in April, we launched the Hydranet Web DEX Open Alpha, inviting the world to experience the power of off-chain, cross-chain trading — no installations, no gas, instant swaps. Since then, our team and community have been hard at work testing, refining, and building. Today, we’re excited to announce that we’ll be releasing the open Beta version of the Hydranet DEX — with an improved trading engine, new interface options, and added security features.
Whether you’re here to swap crypto gas-free, explore pro trading tools, or finally trade BTC ↔ ETH without bridges, Hydranet just became your new favorite DEX!
What’s new in Beta?
The Beta release introduces five key features designed to make your trading experience easier and more powerful:
SimpleSwap — One-click cross-chain swaps Don’t want to mess with charts, limit orders and state channels? Just pick the tokens, enter the amount, and click Swap. That’s it. SimpleSwap is our take on the classic swap interface that DEX users know and love — but with a twist: it’s off-chain and cross-chain by design.
As always with Hydranet, you get true self-custody of your funds throughout every trade and frontrunning protection inherited from Hydranet’s off-chain architecture. With SimpleSwap, this power is delivered in a clean, intuitive interface anyone can use, whether you’re a DeFi explorer or just looking to bridge quickly between Bitcoin and Ethereum
Order Book Mode – Professional Trading Without Centralization Prefer fine-grained control? Hydranet now offers an Order Book Trading Interface powered by TradingView, giving you a familiar CEX-style interface, hosting limit orders with visible bids and asks, and instant, gasless off-chain settlement.
Hydranet’s Order Book Interface offers the speed and cost-efficiency of a centralized exchange, but without the risk. Trades settle peer-to-peer through secure state channels, not through middlemen.
Multi-Pair Routing – Smarter Trades, More Liquidity In the past, trades on Hydranet required direct liquidity between two assets. For example, let’s say you wanted to swap HDN → USDC, but there’s no direct liquidity in that pair, no swap was possible. With multi-pair routing, if liquidity exists in HDN ↔ aETHandaETH ↔ USDC, Hydranet will route your trade through both, executing HDN → aETH → USDC instantly and gas-free.
With the new multi-pair routing feature, Hydranet can now automatically combine multiple trading pairs behind the scenes to complete your swap. The result is more trading opportunities with a more efficient use of liquidity across the DEX, benefiting both Hydranet users and the Hydranet ecosystem alike.
0 confirmation channels — The Fastest Way Between Blockchains This feature allow users to immediately use rental funds in their state channel, even before the deposit is fully confirmed on-chain, letting you jump straight into trading without delay.
The feature is particularly powerful when used with Hydranet’s SimpleSwap and when trading into the Bitcoin blockchain, where a single block can take 10 min to confirm. With 0 confirmation channels, you can initiate a swap from Ethereum using ETH, USDC, USDT, or any other supported EVM token, and receive Bitcoin instantly, without waiting for a BTC confirmation.
EVM Watchtowers – Trade Securely, Even When You’re Offline Watchtowers are our behind-the-scenes heroes. In short: they watch your back. For the Beta release, Hydranet will offer Watchtowers for EVM state channels, with development for Lightning and Bitcoin still in progress
When you open a state channel, your assets are held off-chain, giving you incredible speed, cost-efficiency and data control. But what if you go offline mid-session? That’s where Watchtowers come in. They make sure no one can act fraudulently without getting punished, keeping your experience seamless and safe. You don’t have to configure anything – Watchtowers work automatically, giving you the benefits of off-chain trading without the worry.
Why off-chain matters
Unlike traditional DEXs that rely on slow, expensive on-chain conformations, Hydranet uses state channels to enable off-chain swaps, both when trading on a single blockchain and across different chains. This means:
No bridges
No waiting
No gas fees
No compromise on custody
No frontrunning
No wrapped tokens.
This is what we call Decentralization That Works.
Goals and next steps
Similarly to our Alpha, the Beta release is all about validation, refinement, and feedback, with the key goals being.
Stabilizing off-chain nodes: Ensure the off-chain nodes (running in-browser) are robust, responsive, and secure.
Improving wallet reliability: Enhance wallet usability and minimize friction so anyone can use Hydranet from their browser without hassle.
Testing of swap functionality: Identify and eliminate bugs in the implemented off-chain swap logic, across various assets, networks, and interfaces.
As a tester of Hydranet’s Beta release, your feedback and insights play a critical role in shaping the platform we’re building together
While you explore the Beta, we’re continuing to develop and refine the experience — including:
A developer-ready API for bot integrations and advanced use cases
Ongoing improvements and bug fixes based on community feedback
System-wide stress testing to ensure reliability under real trading conditions
If there’s a project you believe should be integrated into Hydranet, let us know. We’re always open to meaningful connections.
Try it now
You can access the open Beta right from your browser. No installation. No gas. Just pure trading at scale.
Hydranet grows with its community. If you believe in what we’re building, help us share our progress with your network. Post your swaps, write your own walkthrough, video, or thread, and tag us on X!
Let’s bring DeFi into its next chapter — together.
